Quick lap skating up Millcreek through 4″of ungroomed (slow) snow, then a disappointing trip up Corner Canyon Road where the south winds blew all the new snow off into Sandy. If we had a normal winter, this would be a fun road to skate ski up.

Short skate up HWY 65 in horrific, refrozen, ungroomed mank. Then descend, eat lunch, and go skiing up Grizzly with the family. Perfect weather today, and the calm before the next welcomed storm.

Sort of felt weird not skiing with Alex on my back. Good skiing on mellow north aspects. Hero snow. Today made me want to hang up the nordic skis and stay on touring gear, both to heal my ankle up, and just for a change of pace.

Went out hunting Grizzly with Alex, just found powder. Oh well, at least it actually looks like winter in the Wasatch now.

A foot or snow of new snow that remained good all day until Alex and I could get a run in before sunset. Nice turns on south aspects, nobody around for the dusk patrol.

Went up to Park City to sample the Snyderville Basin nordic trails. Awesome nordic skating in the urban environment. Similar to Round Valley, but less hills. A great area to tow Alex around and just cruise along at 13-16mph.

Butchered the Samurai down to the minimum for the lightest possible weight for the best over snow performance. Eventually I will rebuild the cab in uber-light fashion, as well as tweak the tracks a bit for more float and better traction. A ghetto rear locking differential is in the works too.

Another day skating up Hwy 65. A skiff of fresh snow slowed it down, but still a good time and a great workout.
